I always had mixed feelings on this Watch. When I saw the official pictures, I fell in love with it. When I saw it in the real, I was disappointed. Well, it was some 3 ( 4? ) years ago... I had the opportunity to see it again, today, and I must say that I...

thanks for the post

thanks for sharing. I never knew they made a watch like this. I can totally see myself wearing this down the slopes of Whistler =P

Was it in 2009, or 2010, I can't remember, but I was quite surprised...

Some two or three years ago, I was offered the mighty original, and I took too much time giving my answer. I would have loved to get it! Very " décalé ", indeed, compared to the image we have of the Speedmaster. Thanks for your answer! Best, Nicolas

When Omega mixes speedies with color blocks

like the almost solid white on the face and band here, or the reds and yellows of the Schumachers, great things often follow. I love this one, and the strap adds a great dimension.

Yes, I noticed the shape of the hands

I don't think I've seen that before

What do I think? I think . . .

. . . you're finally falling for Omega. :-) Yes, and Bill and Jeff, too ;-) . . .

Not yet, not totally... My kind of stuff is quite problematic...

CK 2913 Fuerza Aerea Del Peru, CK 2042, Omega 33.3, one manual Chronometer, CK 2915... Easier, CK 2777, you see, I am in big trouble... Best, Nicolas.

CK 2942? Definitely problematic! I've never heard of . . .

Ah, the 1938 Pilot's watch . . .

 By: Dr No : April 11th, 2014-15:30
. . . that was re-issued in the not-too-distant past under the Museum Collection. I wasn't aware of the reference number, Nicolas - now I know.

Apparently 2001, and incidentally, the first piece . . .

. . . of the Museum Collection.

. . . and, from the image in the press release . . .

When thinking of Omega watches as a whole, one that really stands out beside the ck2077 after having contemplated the early pieces of the Master series. Best x

I remember me stopping at the Omega store ...

.. near Place Vendome and you saying "Let's move on, i don't want to see that horrible watch" .... :-) :-) :-) I kinda liked the looks from the beginning but since there are so many variations of the Speedmaster i'd put my Euros on a few others :-) Don't ...

Watches ??? ;-)

For me, the absolutely perfect Speedmaster Professional ...

 By: Marcus Hanke : April 12th, 2014-08:49
... since it unites everything I always demanded for a perfectly legible watch: white dial, black hands with luminous material, and the idea to give the subcounter hands a triangular "counterweight" leading the eye towards the tip is excellent. Too pity t...

Where's Jim Moose when you need him?

 By: MikiJ : April 15th, 2014-08:22
The very first owner of one of these was Jim Moose. For those of us fortunate enough to know Jim; imagine him actually wearing this watch? However we know he did own a few other SpeedO's ;-) OK, quite a few!

Interesting...

 By: MikiJ : April 15th, 2014-09:12
Jim had one when he came to visit in 2009. Hard to believe he brought a box full of SpeedO's ;-) Would that one have been an original? Maybe I should reach out for him?

it was 2010 that they released it. 40th anniversary of the original prototype

i just love the look of the watch, but some owners have commented on the finish on the dial not being that good. what is your opinion of that statement? perhaps one day i'll get one, but my white dial speedy auto reduced is fulfilling the white dial speed...

i apologise for i have made an error. it was not 2010 it was released

 By: G99 : April 23rd, 2014-04:08
i remember it being earlier than that perhaps 2008? i got confused as i believe the original dated from 1970 and havent looked it up in the book as i'm just plain lazy. i always thought the original was a prototype designed for working in sub zero tempera...
