Omega Seamaster 300 Platinum?

 By: amanico : February 25th, 2015-03:26
While trying to learn more about the Omega Seamaster 300 issued last year, I visited the Omega Website, and learned that a limited edition of 357 pices existed... In platinum. And that the blue dial was in... Enamel? The blue beast: Anyone here has some ...

Yes, enamel ...

Omega states: "This Seamaster 300 has a blue enamel dial". Fancy setup (Pt etc.) for a tool watch. Cheers, Nilo

Enamel enamel ...

As I was informed. Add to that the bezel in "LiquidMetal" and you are done. Cheers, Nilo

I saw for the Liquidmetal bezel. That is the enamel dial which surprises me the most.

I guess the retail is a nightmare on this one... Best, Nicolas

A platinum tool watch with an enamel dial? Hmmm...

Creates some cognitive dissonance... Platinum is a great medium for high-end pieces. An enamel dial is special, but precious. But why blend the two together in a heritage tool watch? I know...$, and that's OK, but the piece in its totality is too dissonan...

I agree 100% with your definition ...

Of "cognitive dissonance". Tools made with Pt!!! I will stay with my SS version. Cheers, Nilo

100% my feelings, here. I love platinum, I love enamel, I don't find that consistent with

a diving Watch, but I damn love that! Aah, ooh, yes, the LE writing was absolutely not necessary, as the rest of the mentionsn either: Omega, Seamaster 300 and Basta! Best, John. Nicolas

Ahaha! This is a tool watch, diver watch.......

....for the guy who own the ship! Not the diver:) Very nice watch though!!! Cheers Francois

I haven't seen it in the metal yet, Nicolas . . .

. . . but if you find it intriguing, perhaps you should try on the titanium version . . . . . . that ztirual found so compelling. ...

Very close to the titanium version, agreed. But not as mysterious as the Pt.

I want to solve this mystery... The Damn Noisy parker in me... ;)

Yes indeed Dr No :-)

I feel that watch totally compelling. I have vented criticism at Omega in the past mostly in frustration in front of what appeared to me to be a continuous lack of ambition. Not any more.... At the risk of repeating myself I feel the package of new materi...

nice review...

Big is the reward? Hmmm How big? :) Best, Nicolas.

Dr Mamadu's powers are well known.. Well, let's have a reward.. ;))

.. Parts of it you know the contents & nature ( Main part) .. For the 2nd part I should be ready in fall, AFAIK & hope for Dr Mamadu should have some special knowledge there, I guess.. .. And 3rd there has to be room for some " little" joys, one of which ...

I definitely love your very own definition of Diet. :))))

It seems that you are working on a Grand Slam. ;) I love that. All the best, Nicolas

I tried the limited platinum version yesterday

 By: emcquillan : March 15th, 2015-05:37
It is a beautiful watch. The weight is so substantial and impressive. Two problems: 1) for that money there are so many interesting alternatives. 2) It's hard to pay almost 10 x the steel version with the same engine inside :) Just my 2 cents, but damn it...

Yes much more elegant and deep

 By: emcquillan : March 15th, 2015-05:45
than the titanium blue. The only distraction is the limited edition writing on the dial. If they perceived it necessary it could have been more discreet. If it was priced like a gold rolex sub or gmt II, I would have bought it yesterday. It is a really co...

Yes, a pity they mentionned the LE number on the dial.

But I must say that the idea to get one crossed my mind... I will try to see it in the real. Best, Nicolas

Please let us know your feedback when

you see one and try it on in person. Kind regards,

The number on the dial does not irk

but I agree with you about the price being so much more while there is a similarity to other versions. You are right about questioning if it is worth.
