I have a working Speedmaster mark2 Pro 1969 Omega watch and it seems that the gaskets have worn. My watch has condensation build up under the crystal as well as a small gouge near the side. Other than that it runs fine. Recently I have taken it to a repair shop to get a quote for the service.
They want $620 with tax for the servicing..
That includes a few parts and a "cleaning that will make it look like new". I also image them doing a full service on it.
This seems like a steep price for a servicing. They want to replace the Crystal ($80) and gaskets (80 dollars) and maybe something else ( I forgot what he said).
So he is going to charge me lets say max 240 bucks for parts 380 for service, including the clean.
Does the sounds like a fair offer?
I already found a parts website that lists the crystal:
Omega Crystal TN5146 Tach $45.00
I dont see how the gaskets can be $80
What do you guys think?
