Central Watch Case Co.

I  have a big, old omega (39.5mm without crown) powered by a 283 caliber. Case back # 2545, made by Central watch case Co which I cannot find any info with Omega Database. Is the company Swiss ? American ? or Argentinian ? How do I get information with this case back number?

...two similar watches that sold in the past. Both had cal. 283, and both were listed as 39mm+ in diameter, so those parts certainly make sense. One was sold at a Christie's auction in 2007 for over US$20K. But that particular example was a factory protot...

Thanks Gator. More pics for you here. It's only a gold plated case but I love it because it looks big on my wrist and very close to my GMT. I leave the crown and everything as it was on the day it came into my possession. Lug size is 20mm....

the "only". Normal thickness for the industrie in those days was a layer of 10 - 20 micron. Omega went much further with 40 micr. and even a colossal 80 micr. for certain other models (like yours), that was 'rolled on' to the basic material. This is huge:...

Hi, I have got a very similar model with the "neighbor" ref. #   2544 in SS which is also 39mm and has SUB-second. These both references seem to be the largest cases with 30mm family movements ever built I guess... No picture at the time - it is "in the S... 

These to the best of my knowledge was the largest 30 mm cases as well...

Hi i have come to the same conclusion... this case style at about 39.4 mm is the largest that I have come across as well for a 30 mm family movement. Here is a pink gold filled one that I no longer have... i still have a steel one somewhere .... Let me se...
