The other side.

Hi all. I am sure you know what that is. I removed it from a constellation caseback just to see what's on the other side and here is what I have. It's quite thin 14K gold and very very easy to get dents, dings etc....if you change the crystal and have to ...

Wow... have to admit Hoi...

Hi Hoi You went father then I would have done.... as you say " just to see what's on the other side" !! Thank you for your sacrifice , it has probably saved alot of other Connie casebacks ! Good Hunting Bill Sohne

I haven't changed a plexi on one of these medallion caseback models before, but when I do, I'll remember your wise words. Thanks for all your research... grumio

This is very original. Thanks for sharing. [nt]

Nice work Hoi.

Very interesting to see and know

It is interesting, since this is the first time I see this gold piece detached from a case-back. It will also be interesting, if you can show us, the outside of the case-back, without this 14k solid gold 'medal'. Thank you.

Thanks for the picture of the back-cover, without its 14k solid gold 'medal'. Thank you.

We already knew...

Hi Hoi, We already knew you are brave when working on your watches, not to say hazardous... kind regards Erich

Oh yes

Hi Erich. Yes, to me knowledge is everything. Not too long ago, I bought a 168005 with a wrong caseback (14381) I had to buy a brand new caseback from Australia and now this 14381 becomes an extra. So, it doesn't hurt to remove it and see the other side. ...

kinda cool:) [nt]

I didn't realize that they were just pressed metal sheet - I'll be careful with mine from now. Thanks Hoi for the info - always useful Cheers Andrew

Only the non gold , steel are cast.
