As my screen name suggests...

I own an Omegamatic.  I purchased mine new from the AD I worked for at the time in 1998.  It was my daily driver for about a year until I bought an America's Cup SMP LE.  Overall, the watch is smallish for today's standards, yet it has a great look.  The wave pattern on the dial doesn't extend to the edges as on other Seamasters.  The cyclops also adds a touch of class.  In 11 years, the Omegamatic has required only one battery change.  I suspect that its storage on a watchwinder may have some influence.  Unfortunately, the Seamaster that started my love affair with Omega gets no wrist time.  I haven't worn it for at least 4 years.

Enjoy your new watch!

I wanted one of these from the first release. I came close on 2 occaisions but never had the funds. As I recall, Omega had some Power reserve issues with this hybrid. Overall, I like the look but mostly, I like the uniqueness. Enjoy it.

Hi Graham, I also understand that such movements housed in swiss watches are called autoquartz manufactured by ETA as contrast to kinetics used by the Japanese. The company ceased to produce anymore such movements in 2006 with reason that it needs to dive...
