need more pics.; inside and outside back most of all....

the dial looks almost too evenly aged to me. that is in comparison to the hands, that show a strange discolouration. like heat treatment ? if that´s the case ( sunshine/heat exposure), the dial would look different . in my opinion it will be next to impossible, to find a non refinished bezel. i have the same model with an original bezel and tried everything, to locate one. there used to be an american guy on ebay, who restored/manufactured very nice inserts. can´t remember his ebay ID; hopefully others will ! just get more information and close up pics. on this almost too nice beauty ! kind regards. achim

I may have found my SM 300 CK 14 755, but I need your help.

 By: amanico : September 18th, 2009-05:02
Well, Folks, this may be wy lucky day. I'm hunting for a long time this SM 300 Ref, and I fell on one, but before deciding anything about it, I need some help. Here's the watch: The inside of the case back reveals that the watch was made in 1961, the move...

Wow what a beauty !!!

Congratulations .

What a beauty!

 By: joeyza : September 18th, 2009-06:51
I don't have the technical references you were asking about, but it looks amazing. For the age and a bezel that wore out easily, it looks to be in relatively good condition. Again, outstanding patina! Good luck and I hope this is the baby you're looking f...

Thanks, Joe

I still have a pair of days to think about it... But as I write now, I have it on my wrist, and my wrist tells me to go on it... Best, Nicolas

Looks legit to me.

That bezel is as good as its going to get and is virtually impossible to find in NOS condition - know of only one instance when this has happened. As long as the price is reasonable, I would jump on it. Mike

Mike, I appreciate a lot your feed back

 By: amanico : September 18th, 2009-13:40
I made my homework, and it looks legit, indeed. I even took some macros of the dial to chec that it wasn't relumed, and no, it's really original. So, I will think about, but I think it will be on the good way... Best, and thanks for your advice! Nicolas

I would ...

Hi Nicolas, if the "interior" looks as nice as the watch outside - TAKE IT ! If you are patient you might find a better bezel or have this restored - but it does not look too bad in this condition though! godd luck! erich

bite the sellers hand off its a price you like

 By: G99 : September 18th, 2009-09:30
i agree with MSN, the bezel is probably impossible to find NOS and i'd leave it as it is, you've told me that often enough a lovely early piece which looks superb for its 48 years. best Graham

Correct, my friend!

One ponit for you! Best, Graham! Nicolas

Thanks, Erich

 By: amanico : September 18th, 2009-13:42
Of course, I checked the inside, and I saw that the movement was a 19 XXX XXX, which is coherent with the period, even if I saw some 1961 coming with a 18 XXX XXX. The inside is in very good condition, no traces of corrosion, as well as the movement. Than...

Very nice and it looks correct ! [nt]

Nico , This Seamaster is incredible! You are a very lucky guy for having found it. It looks great as it is, but I will make a couple of calls on this side of the Atlantic to see if a bezel could be allocated. Hoefully I will have an answer by Monday. Un a...

Seria fenomenal, Alex!

 By: amanico : September 18th, 2009-13:48
If you could find one, it would be awesome!!! This watch is so clean that it deserves a nice bezel, IMO. Let me know, my friend. Many thanks in advance, Hermano! Un abrazo. Nicolas

Macro of the movement: THen additional pics of the watch: That's the best I can do.... Thanks for the informations, Achim. Best, Nicolas...

Lovely

 By: BDLJ : September 20th, 2009-19:14
I'd just leave it. That bezel, while damaged, is part of the history of the watch. All the aging nicely matches, so no reason to have brand new part, particularly when the bezel function (all numbers present) is still there.

If I solve my problem with the Movement Nr, Ben

 By: amanico : September 20th, 2009-22:24
I will have the time to think about the bezel... Best, my friend, ad thanks fro your opinion! Nicolas

Another thing, Achim

 By: amanico : September 20th, 2009-22:18
As you noticed, the movement is a 19 xxx xxx, so is it correct for this watch? All the 1961 I saw ( 3 ) were 18 xxx xxx. Is it possible to get a 19 xxx xxx on a 1961 watch? Best, Nicolas

I´m not a big expert in Omega vintage...

 By: E.J. : September 20th, 2009-14:51
but this one seems correct to me. In 1960, Omega made the Seamaster 300 CK 14755, with the 552 automatic movement and these kind of arrow hands like the model CK 2913. In 1962, this 14755 was replaced for the ref. 165.014, model which wear normal or strai...

Well, Emilio, my only concern is the movement number

 By: amanico : September 20th, 2009-22:21
I saw 3 15755 from year 1961 coming with 18 xxx xxx movements, not with a 19 xxx xxx movement. The watch is to die for, but don't want to have doubts on it... Best, and thanks for your input, Hermano! Nicolas

I have a Ref. 14755-61

 By: MSNWatch : September 21st, 2009-05:16
With a 19,xxx,xxx serial number with a COA from Omega so no worries there.

Wow, that's great news, MSNWatch!

I've seen several mentions of this almost mythical eBay seller who restores these bezels, but I have yet to find a name or id. I did bookmark a post from another forum where a member had his 2913 bezel restored (from a rather sorry state). Before: Image b...

Thank you so much, Alex, for your help.

I will let you know very quickly if I get it or not, as I have a Dead Line tomorrow to give my definitive answer. Seems that I will go on it, after all your remarks on this watch. That's a nice example of how friendly and helpful our community is, indeed....

My pleasure

My pleasure. I have no personal relationship with the member, but there's no harm in reaching out. I'm not in the position to buy much at the moment, so at least I can draw some pleasure from trying to help someone else - - enabler? Yes!

Will tell you, Alex..Much appreciated! [nt]

And we'll see if Luck is on my side... I'm very excited, as this was a watch I hunted so badly, since I saw Graham's one ( like you, I think... ) I have something else I may add, but I'm working on checing the authenticity... A crazy time... Best, Hermano...

I saw Grahamm´s one...

I have a 14755-61 which is on it's way to service right now. It has a serial starting with 19, too Re: the bezel-I have one with the Italian gentleman who restores them right now. Google "milwatchmaker" to find him-he is responsible for the restored bezel...

Are you now the proud owner of this beauty? [nt]

I recently acquired this beauty and someone sent me a thread from this sight back in 2009 from what I beleive was the previous owner. I am trying to ascertian if this watch is 1961 and possibly sold in 1967? ...

Unlikely. Ask the seller to provide . . .

 By: Dr No : October 28th, 2021-16:46
. . . an extract from Omega. That will put the issue to rest. Dubiously, Art
