SMP1000s

All one has to do is send their SMP1000 in to Bienne and the case will be refinished and come back looking as-new. Unfortunately, I think that gets done fairly often. I have a Grand on which the case was poorly refinished and the edges were lost a bit. I plan on sending it in for a service and having it restored.

I don't see that many new-looking Ploprofs or Grands, TBH.

There were some new-looking watches appearing in Oz several years back and I believe they were built up by the seller from NOS parts obtained from HK. I bought one in 2004 and it's still a cracker!

I've never seen a fake SMP1000 and the fake Ploprof cases actually don't look new.

Hi Achim Take a closer look when something is too new.... or at best mint dial and hands and very aged movement ... just does not add up. I always like to see some wear.... Good Hunting Bill Sohne

Since it's well know that fake cases and bezels are being made for them. The 1000 surprises me that NOS specimens seem to be appearing, but I guess with the renewed interest in Ploprof, these are starting to get attention. I still think these are probably...
