It's not exactly the same dial, but you get the idea. Classic layout of day and month apetures. BTW, I don't have a 5396 and therefore I'm not insulted either way? I just think the 5396 is a viable consideration when the conversation involves Patek AC's.
Take a look at the Reardon book and compare the 5396 to References from the 40's and 50's that have apetures. They're not AC's but the dial layouts are unquestionably where the 5396 has its roots.
