Officine Panerai:

I believe this is exactly what happened. I’ve been changing straps on rads for nearly 20 years without issue. I’d try to run this up the ladder at Panerai to see if you can get a good-will repair at no cost. I do believe it was the fault of the AD/boutique.

Don’t let the movement controversy sway you. I have both versions of the 9010 and both run like a top. The hacking is a non-issue as a tiny bit of back pressure on the crown will stop the movement if you insist on precise setting. As for decoration, much like my car, I can’t see the engine/movement
