Welcome Nilo! Moderator for Omega

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 3rd, 2014-05:56
Nilo doesn't really need much of an introduction from me as he has been around for many years. A regular contributor to many forums, but now the active Moderator for Omega. Firstly, congratulations Nilo on taking on the Omega forum. Omega is one of the mo...

Welcome back to the Gang, Nilo. My best wishes for your new moderation.

 By: amanico : September 3rd, 2014-06:04
Omega is a tough forum to moderate, since the field of vintage watches is very wide, and the modern producton has to be explained. Looking forward to reading you, Best, Nicolas

Thank you Nico ...

 By: nilomis : September 3rd, 2014-11:01
With your and other Mods help, let's make the Omega forum a memorable one, just like the JLC here. Cheers, Nilo

Super glad to have you back on board Nilo!

It's only a matter of Rolex to make a Rolex watch that don't look like a Rolex watch (no cyclops, no Sub / GMT looks, no Daytona look and the list goes). In this way I can wear a Rolex here (this one that don't look like a Rolex) without being chased by c...

Of my watchmaker. It's a little bit far from you two but I love his work. He don't let a watch, that is designed to flip the date at midnight, go out if the watch is not doing what it was designed to do, meaning midnight. One day, I went to retrieve a wat...

Answering your question ...

 By: nilomis : September 3rd, 2014-15:44
No, it's not correct but any capable watchmaker can fix this while you wait. I'm very obsessive about this and other matters and this is the reason that I got the so called "Amanico's disease" and I'm hooked on non date watches. Thank you vey much for the...

I have a not so high end JCL, the Dualmatic, that adjusts the date on a similar way. Here are the instructions from an old Purists post: Notice that with the crown B at position #2, we have adjustment of time and date in both directions. Same as the Omega...

I can find 2913....but not with the lollipop....... Very very irritating.

yep.........

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 10th, 2014-11:52
.....I know!! I would have thought that the 2914 was harder to find.....not true

Not sure... I think a nice Railmaster is even tougher to find.

 By: amanico : September 10th, 2014-11:54
And more expensive, too... Best, Nicolas

more expensive...true. Harder to find? Not in my experience....

 By: Baron - Mr Red : September 10th, 2014-11:58
.....i could find several more 2914s....though, as you say, condition can be a problem.

Condition and authenticity are big issues on the Railmaster.

 By: amanico : September 10th, 2014-12:00
I saw several wehn I was hunting mine, and it took me a long time before finding it, upon these 2 criterias... Best, Nicolas
