Speedmaster 50th Anniversary celebration in Los Angeles . . .

Nov 08, 2007,01:02 AM

. . . just ended a few hours ago . . . normally I'd wait until the weekend to compose an event report, but the buzz from this special evening has me wide awake so I'm going give this my best shot and try to get most of it in now while my memories are fresh.

Omega is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the iconic Speedmaster this year, and exhibited the collection of NASA edition Speedmasters at the Beverly Hills Omega boutique this evening with moonwalkers Tom Stafford and Charlie Duke in attendence.  More about these sterling gentlemen later . . . for now, let me share some pics of the venue and the invited guests . . .

. . . . these photos don't quite capture the atmosphere of the event . . . it was standing room only when the astronauts were making their public appearance and meeting the guests.
