Three Interesting 'Black & White' Models of 2010 Collection

Nov 09, 2010,21:19 PM

Besides the well-liked  Plongeur Professional 1200 ,  three other models which I think are quite interesting in the OMEGA 2010 collections with black or white dials - the Speedmaster Professional Moonphase Chronograph with blackened Aventurine dial, the Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Chronograph  Apollo Soyuz  "35th Anniversary" and Specialities Museum Limited Edition.

Firstly, the Speedmaster Professional Moonphase Chronograph with blackened Aventurine dial.
At different light angle, the bluish aventurescence magnifies or dims, coupled with a iridescent MOP moon-phase, it gives an impression this moonwatch is in the centre of the galaxy.

The adventurine glass is produced by adding of metal oxide during the glass-founding process to increase the shimmering reflective effect.

Next is the LE of 1975 pieces - Speedmaster Moonwatch Professional Chronograph  Apollo Soyuz  "35th Anniversary" with a meteorite dial.

A few close-up pictures, display the dial is from a single piece of spacestone -meteorite, by observing the continuous crystaline grain
from the black portion of the dial through the sub-dials.

The black colour was achieved through a surface oxidation process, while the silvery sub-dials are the natural colour of the meteorite.

And the third one is the Specialities Museum Limited Edition Ref: 516.53.39.50.09.001 or some may called it  Museum No. 10
Limited production unit of 1938 pieces. For previous press release of the "Milestone 1941", please  click here .

This elegant 'doctor-chronograph',  is housed in a 39mm yellow gold case and ran by the COSC certified manual winding Caliber Omega 3203 with column wheel mechanism and Co-Axial Escapement  and a power reserve of 55 hours.

Spotting a pulsometer  with a long 30 pulsations. Continuous small seconds hand at 9H and  30-minute counter at 3H.

Dome anti-reflective crystal and beautiful blued hands.

Solid caseback with serial number (a prototype piece with Serial 0000/1938).

Case is also decorated with alternating polish and satin-brush finishing for better constrast.

Ivory enamel dial with black & red enamelled pulsometer scale &  black minute-track.

Any of you like one or more of the above selections?

Thanks for viewing.

I would like 2 of them... The one with the meteorite dial is an extraordinary piece. But as I am a lover of red gold and enamel dials the doctor chronograph is a watch to go for ! What is the diameter of the gold chrono? kind regards Erich

The Speedies are great, but seeing as I already have a standard issue 3570.50, that chrono would be just fantastic to own.

Wow Kong thansk for the photos...

They are some great up close shots of these watches. The Speedmaster Pro moon phase looks really amazing in macro like that. I had not seen the bracelet and clasp in detail before. You can see the "new" screwed link system in your shots. The bracelet clas...

Thanks for putting them under the light again ... with those details on the dial im thinking how some changes of materials and colors and take the watch from nice looking to beautiful looking . The open back also shows another beauty of Omegas movement wo...

If I was a doctor I would certainly get one of those Pulsometers

I think taking the pulse with a watch like that justifies a $1000 appointment. LOL! As I’m no doctor, I’d stick with the gorgeous Aventurine dial. Regards, Marcelo

I noticed something about the moonphase

That I hadn't noticed before, the new style buckle. I wonder if this heralds changes to come... I really like the dial of that one, it's less "exciting" than the meteorite, but I think i actually like it better A

Nice watches.

The meteorite Speedmaster looks nice. And the two register chrono looks stunning. We've been seeing lately some models, from different brands, with this type of dial (AP, Montblanc, Breguet). This Omega looks gorgeous. The dial hands combo look great. Lov...

Does the Adventurine bezel match the dial in sparkliness?

The bezel looks flawed but is that because it's the same material as the dial? Mike

Beautiful Chronos!

I especially like the doctor's chrono; clean white dial and well balanced sub-dials; and the eye catching extra long hammer-head pushers!

i would love the meteorite dial, but have reservations about the museum piece

 By: G99 : November 11th, 2010-14:23
they've already done the 1945 officers chronograph in 2003 which had pulsations on it as well as a tachy and telemetre so this new one is a bit too much like that for my liking. i faithfully collected every museum piece up until 2005, but lost faith in th...

Three nice pieces...

The meteorite dial is my favourite. Thanks for the photos. Regards, Richard.

The moonphase looks nice although I prefer the older, simpler versions.

I wonder what secret that new thick clasp may hold. A Ploprof-like sliding adjustment? Your first pic includes a blurred view of the inside of the clasp in the background. And the clasp shot shows visible scratches in the center of the link nearest to the...
