POC in Maldivian waters

Oct 07, 2012,02:51 AM

For some reasons I decided to vacation outside of my country for the first time in twenty years last month. With the Maldives as my choice, there could not have been a better choice than the Planet Ocean Chronograph.

And the star of the show... our very own Planet Ocean Chronograph

Time to check clarity of water

Too bad it rained for half of the trip despite the fact that the rainy season had ended a couple of weeks earlier.

The POC must be mighty attractive even the dolphins wanted to see it.

I don't know when was the last time I took so many photographs in a day...

...or a night.

Last day of any trip always brings mixed feelings.

At least these little guys knew how to give a farewell show.

Then it was really, really time to say goodbye to this small paradise.

Don't forget to clean your watch thoroughly after submersion in saltwater biggrin

The view from a uniquely beautiful bathroom, but sadly mine for only five days and four nights.

Allow me to close with two of my favorite shots from this trip...

Thanks for looking.

Ruckdee

I would really love to dive there! Perhaps one day... Best, Kari

The real dive spots should be awesome.

I am just a snorkeler at best and as such was confined to what was available within walking/swimming distance from the beach. One day, Kari, you must, if you have the time and if it is not too far from your location. It took me only four hours by plane. B...

it must be totally 8-10 hours flight. Austrian Airlines is flying from Vienna and from here it's around 2.5 hours to the central Europe. I have many DM and Instructor colleagues who have been diving in Maldives. They all say that it is stunning and diving...

I see. At least you have good starting info from you friends.

Nothing is better than that, of course. Regarding camera, as I am not a real diver, I did not invest in a proper housing for my DSLR and chose instead to buy an affordable water resistant camera from Panasonic. My first water resistant camera ever, it pro...

You've captured not only images . . .

. . . but also the ambiance of the place. Thru your lens, the Maldives seems the most serene place on Earth. So serene, perhaps, that the services of the Planet Ocean might have been superfluous. Who would want to know precisely what time it was while on ...

You made me sound like an important traveler or something :D

Thank you very much Art for letting me know the input is appreciated. Speaking of serene and placid, I think I must share this series of photographs I took upon arrival from the entrance, through the bedroom and to the bedroom window. The wind was quite c...

Stefan, for someone who works from home like myself...

...I could barely contain my excitement. Thank you, Stefan, for stopping by. Now I promised myself to visit a new country each year for the rest of my life. Ruckdee

Unfortunately, I don't have a JLC Master Compressor to accompany me...

Superb Thank you for sharing Best Damjan

I'm glad you like it, Damjan. This must feel like cooking when...

Your photos and commentary. Like , what you read in a travel magazine or indeed from that resort's travel brochure or website. Your PO looks great on your wrist. How's the food compared to my favourite Thai cuisine. Australia next year ? Cheers, dreamer

Oh I'm sure those contents are much better written than this. Anyway...

...thank you for your kind words. And, yes, Australia and New Zealand are on the horizon. It's just a question of when now. We will more likely meet in Thailand again before that happens I think. Ruckdee

Nice, and the POC is right at home...

The PO would be my first choice, too!

this POC is growing on me, especially in these surroundings

A beautiful place to try it out. Somewhere i would love to visit. Your pics are just sublime. I think the holiday was well worth the cost. G

Any contemporary Omega to grow on you must be special.

But more important than the watch is the place I think. Thank you for your kind remarks and hope you will find time to make it there one of these days. Ruckdee

You're welcome, Imran. I won't have anything to share again in a long time to come.

Considering the fact that I paid for this trip and that new Reverso in the same month, I will not like half a year to recover from this financial madness I am in :P Ruckdee
