The New De Ville Trésor

Jul 07, 2014,01:55 AM

After half a century, the Trésor line is re-introduced as  the De Ville Trésor with the new OMEGA Master Co-Axial Calibre 8511.

The vintage Trésor

The new Trésor is housed in three different cases of 40mm diameter - 18K Sedna, yellow gold or white gold, according to catalogue.

In this post, some snapshots of the satin yellow gold prototype ....

Lovely dial, and uncluttered.  Very clean with minimal printing.
The opaline dome dial is guilloche with "Clous de Paris" .  The applied hour markers are also slightly curved.
Both the hands and markers are in 18K gold.

It is pretty handsome.  The yellow gold works for me, though I like 5N rose gold hue.
The yellow gold does give the vintage feel too.

Both white and Sedna gold were not present during the viewing.  Just curious how they will look like.

The water-resistance for the case is rated to 30m.

Sapphire crystal is box-form shape, both sides anti-reflective coatings, provides superb clarity and reduces glare giving a crisp looking dial.

This yellow gold version is paired with brown alligator strap and a 18K gold pin-buckle.

Sapphire crystal back with engraving on the gold part emphasising 'anti-magneric',  '>15'000 Gauss' and 'Si14' to highlight the key characteristics of the manual winding amagnetic Master Co-axial Calibre 8511.

Would hope they drop the 'Si 14' though.

The  Cal 8511 has a power reserve of 60 hours.

Indeed it is smart that OMEGA has tackled magnetization issues which affects accuracy of the watch,  by changing the materials of key components which could be influenced by magnetic forces.  Much logical choice than the Faraday cage (soft-iron cage) approach.
Some of the components are Si14 hairspring, staff and pivots and non-magnetic plates..

Probably that's the reason for 18K rose gold balance bridge.

How do you like the new Trésor?

Lovely case and dial. Good size. Beautiful decorated movement, but the red text on the movement makes it look a bit cheap... Do you know if they will change the text on the final watch? Thank you for sharing. Best Blomman

Unlikely ...

as these red wordings already on the 8500 calibres. Seems like not launching so soon. Thanks for viewing, Blomman. Kong

Very nice watch, but

I'm curious to see it from the side: looking at the third picture the glass seems to be quite thick respect the case... And the second hand has something that doesn't convince me: it don't play well in the context of the dial, maybe too similar to that of...

Maybe ...

the hour and minute hands are too slim, as compared to the vintage pieces. For the side view, attach two pics from the press release. Guess you have to see it in metal. Thanks for viewing, Massi. Kong ...

Very nice report and I like the Tresor in pictures

Just have to see the Real watch in person! Baxter

Always good to...

Hands

Beautiful watch undoubtedly Kong, Thanks for sharing the pics. Those simple straight hands somehow don't do it for me on this watch though. Rishad

Hmm...

I think so too. Thanks for viewing, Rishad. Kong

You did excellent job capturing the texture on the dial. And this is the first time...

...I see this movement. It is quite a feast on the eyes. Ruckdee

Agreed, Ruckdee . . .

[Trésor white gold prototype movement view] . . . and I'll bet you're also in the same boat with me, hoping for a steel model sooner than later. This movement sans calendar function in Railmaster guise would be ideal. Art ...

You read my mind! A steel version would be very tempting for me.

And I am always open for the idea of a once again truly antimagnetic Railmaster to round up my happy Omega collection. Ruckdee

Thanks ...

for viewing, Ruckdee. This piece is coming quite late, like end of the year. Kong

It's amazing!

you like it, Amorologi. Look out at your Boutique or retailers near you. Over here, seems to be targeting to launch by year end. Thanks for viewing, Kong
