Nilo doesn't really need much of an introduction from me as he has been around for many years. A regular contributor to many forums, but now the active Moderator for Omega. Firstly, congratulations Nilo on taking on the Omega forum.
Omega is one of the most exciting manufacturers. In terms of tool watches, it sits at the top table. Its history and continued innovation has kept it at the top table. I have no doubt at all that with Nilo, the forum will continue to prosper and will be as alive, passionate and enthusiastic as Nilo is himself. Bringing an expertise in photography, an eye for detail, natural passion for watches and energy to the forum, I look forward to participating in what will undoubtably be a fun and exciting forum.
It is an honour for me to use my 5000th post on PuristS to welcome Nilo back as the Omega Moderator!

Omega is a tough forum to moderate, since the field of vintage watches is very wide, and the modern producton has to be explained. Looking forward to reading you, Best, Nicolas
It's only a matter of Rolex to make a Rolex watch that don't look like a Rolex watch (no cyclops, no Sub / GMT looks, no Daytona look and the list goes). In this way I can wear a Rolex here (this one that don't look like a Rolex) without being chased by c...
In special to you (Joe) and Art. I'm excited to be back and more excited to be on a brand that almost everyone has at least one piece. Omega, after the brilliant embracing of the Co Axial technology invented by George Daniels, is on a ramp up in terms of ...
... Where you belong. And what would be better than to welcome you back with a question/issue: Last night I was up a little later than usual and thought I'd watch the date indicator turn over on my new Aqua Terra. So at about 8 minutes before midnight I n...
.....i have two or three Rolex that don't shift date until about 3am....I have one Rolex that shifts at 5 mins before midnight....I have a JLC that shifts at 2am.....so my guess is that it just reflects a subtle variation from watch to watch and that ther...
Of my watchmaker. It's a little bit far from you two but I love his work. He don't let a watch, that is designed to flip the date at midnight, go out if the watch is not doing what it was designed to do, meaning midnight. One day, I went to retrieve a wat...
... sense. I have watched my Rolex's make a slow turn during the date change. I have watched my Seiko's start the process at 11:30p and not finish until 2:30a. I have seen my Panerai's change suddenly right at midnight and I have watched with delight when...
No, it's not correct but any capable watchmaker can fix this while you wait. I'm very obsessive about this and other matters and this is the reason that I got the so called "Amanico's disease" and I'm hooked on non date watches. Thank you vey much for the...

... So I bit the bullet last night and started to adjust the watch to see when the date would turn over. And sure enough, it does start to turn at about three minutes before midnight and fully turns over just before the strike of 12. However, the watch ca...
I have a not so high end JCL, the Dualmatic, that adjusts the date on a similar way. Here are the instructions from an old Purists post: Notice that with the crown B at position #2, we have adjustment of time and date in both directions. Same as the Omega...
... low end Jaeger LeCoultre to me. As a matter of fact, that looks like a really, really nice JLC! Maybe even the JLC "beaters" can adjust the date backwards and forwards - which is why they are called La Grande Maison. Truly one of my favorite MAJOR bra...
" only on the high end, like the Master Tourbillons, et al, and they behave in exactly the same way." . My nice Dualmatic is far from being a Tourbillon. I had other "low end" JLC and they don't have the backward date feature. After years on this hobby I ...
... you're gonna have to add timekeepers like Jeff Porcaro and Simon Phillips to that list. Sure, Bonham was one of the very best, but if John was contacted during a seance, even he would admit to stealing from Bernard Purdie. I recently read an article w...
. . . Pocaro, Phillips, and Gadd (and couldn't quite place the latter). A wholly unscientific and mostly meaningless observation: of all the rock drummers I've asked (and it's been more than a few), to a man they all list Neil Peart as their main inspirat...
.... those were just the ten guys off the top of my head. Sure, Neil Peart has his place in rock and roll, but only if you are a big Rush fan. Please don't get me wrong, Peart's a great drummer, but for me a bit too busy and particularly all over the map....
. . . here's mine! Besides Palmer as premier drummers still performing, I've gotta go with . . . Charlie Watts (duh!) Graeme Edge (who never seems to make top 100 lists) Gerry Conway (quite possibly the best drummer no one remembers) Michael Shrieve ('bri...

(Pun also intended). OT digressions such as these are a huge part of the charm of PPro, Art, especially when you are in the thick of them. It was fun to read along and wonder when one of you might get to Cozy Powell. Although unsure of his pedigree, has t...
. . . I probably ran into him back in the days when we hung out at the same nightclub on the Sunset Strip. Cozy used to date one of the waitresses at the Rainbow Bar and Grill; they were an item when he died. I've no memories of having met him, though. Th...

The discussions you led in the past have been intriguing, and still is, and I'm sure that's a great positive for the Omega collectors and enthusiasts alike. Richard
