PloProf - the coolest date change EVER!!

Sep 05, 2014,03:45 AM

I love the PloProf, not just because it looks very cool, is a masterpiece of engineering, and an iconic piece of watch making history with its helium resistance.

No, I love it as well because it has the most amazing ability to change the date either up or down!! (no need to cycle all the way around the date wheel to the correct number)!

This is a feature I have only encountered on this watch. I think it's an amazing little feature!!!

I know, I know, it isn't a hard ship with a quick set date, but it means bringing it out of the watch box and setting it is so quick. (unlike some divers I have, where I pretty much wait until the date nearly matches before putting it on).

Yes i'm afraid I have a bit of OCD, (or TOC in french), and my date has to be correct.

Does anyone else have a feature on a watch (even a small simple detail) that they find unique, or amazing?

Have a good weekend

Cheers Tony

I think you have the same feature in the Rolex GMT Master, too.

... this theory with your Rolex GMT, my friend. I am 95% sure it does not adjust backwards. But if it does and your GMT does not break, let me know and I'll verify on mine. But you first, oui? - Scott

I'm not sure if trying that with my 1675 is what caused the date wheel to stop fully changing at mid-night. So for now, as its fresh from service I shall just keep it wound on a watch winder. Cheers Tony

its been a long time since I visited an Omega boutique to have a play with the current range. The only Omega I have bought new, was my seamaster 300 professional, bought in 1999. I must make a visit sometime soon. Cheers Tony
