Christmas . . .

. . . in September.
My watchmaker called last week to let me know three of my Omegas were ready. In short order, a 14 kt gold-filled '56 Seamaster Calendar . . .
. . . cal 502, sourced from the estate of the original owner. This restoration project took almost two years, and I'm thrilled to finally have it back.
Did you notice the original black dial?
A ref 2179 . . .
. . . cal 30T2,
ca '45. No markings on the back, but otherwise identical to typical US military issue models of the same reference. The movement required a new balance staff in addition to the usual mainspring, but otherwise entirely original. The expandable band will get chucked for a shell cordovan bund strap before the week is out.
Last but not least, a 9 kt Dennison '54 . . .
. . . bumper auto, cal 354 . . .
. . . which is also pretty much original, down to the buckle, other than the crown. A new strap is in the cards; I'm thinking brown lizard, like this one, but open to suggestions.
I'm told a fourth will be ready next week; life is good in ?-land!

PS - that's hand-made mandarine sorbet, from the shop next door to my watchmaker.
