I was sitting in traffic and couldn't resist taking a pic, especially since it had plates. We get to see some interesting vehicles on the streets of L.A.! _MW

we have cycle rickshaws in London now, licenced and legal

 By: G99 : October 28th, 2010-02:39
i'm not sure i'd want to be sitting at exhaust level and being cycled around. its good for the environment, but not for the rider or passenger. graham

I saw some in San Diego when I was at the RedBull Airshow

 By: DRMW : October 29th, 2010-03:58
They had college looking students on these pedal powered rickshaws in San Diego near the GasLamp district. They were really aggressive in traffic (IMO not a good idea to battle it out with cars that will crush you) and were nagging tourists to hire them. ...

check out the tuk tuks of asia.. [nt]

In India

 By: Quan : October 28th, 2010-07:01
this can feed 12 pax incl. the driver w/o the back cover In Jakarta it is name after its manufacture Bajaj which they partner with Piaggio to make the above in India...

no way!

 By: DRMW : October 29th, 2010-03:42
12? How??? Does someone have to sit on someone's lap or hang on the roof? -MW

this is the math

 By: Quan : October 29th, 2010-07:28
each next to the driver, then the center row face to face each 3 so it is 6, then at the back where there is no cover can sit another 3, so total 12. this is no kidding, during my visit there a few attempt try to take picture but failed

I can get a few people into my Morris

and it's only slightly larger than a Tuk Tuk...

I love your girls!!!

I mean, your car! Pardon my oversight. As the wise say, don't judge the book by its cover, an old derelict car can also attract young busty ladies cen@jkt

Here in L.A., no one will give you the time of day with a new Mercedes

But one of these or a Tuk Tuk? You'll get stopped on the street. This message has been edited by mrsnak on 2010-10-30 16:15:39

Tuk Tuk

 By: patrick_y : October 28th, 2010-08:45
Looks like a Tuk Tuk that I've seen before in Thailand. Nice catch DRMW!

That doesn't surprise me.

 By: patrick_y : October 28th, 2010-17:18
When I was in Thailand, the hotel staff advised me to not use any Tuk Tuks out of fear of being cheated. But I still wished I could get an experience in one...

It looks much cleaner...

 By: ATM : October 28th, 2010-11:29
Hi DRMW, That definitely looks much cleaner than the 'Bajaj' I took when I was in Jakarta! ATM

Safe? No. Fun? yes.

Can't see enough of it to tell exactly what it is...but check out or google "Lambretta Lambro" or "Vespa APE"

Especially....

 By: BDLJ : October 29th, 2010-21:53
...when puttering around the inner-city with 2 other mates in the tray of an unregistered (and woefully in need of some attention) Lambro....ahem...

It was a funny experience.

In Bangkok always is rush hour. You breath all that delicious polution, sweat a lot and it's not the most comfortable way for a ride, but it was fun. You better hold tight. Vte...

Hey VMM...

Your Bangkok Auto Rickshaw Scooter looks pimped put than the one plain one in L.A.! -MW

This is luxury....LOL

 By: Quan : October 29th, 2010-07:31
