When I compare the pictures of bamboo wood products on the web:

Baselworld 2013: Omega

 By: Marcus Hanke : June 3rd, 2013-12:59
Omega at Baselworld 2013 presented by Marcus Hanke Thrilling news without a completely new movement? Of course, for Omega this is possible. This year, there are many novelties that will immediately find avid fans, even if they are “only” new shapes, dials...

Thanks for the report, Marcus.

The Blue Speed is not bad looking at all! Other than that, well, the 2013 collection will not be a dangerous year for my wallet... Best, Nicolas

Another memorable report ...

Marcus, Thank you very much, for this great report. My 2cs: The 15000 Gauss is very interesting, when we consider that we are full of magnetic devices but it could be much better if they change this ugly seconds hand painting. The day-date ... where we al...

Ah, so many to choose from...

... anti-magnetic seems interesting. Blue dial Speedmaster is also gorgeous... Very nice collection and thanks for the report! Ken

It's nice to see Omega really flourishing with their 8500 and 9300 series co-axial

calibers. The antimagnetic watch, with 1.5T resistance, has the potential of making magnetism largely a nonissue, just as incabloc/KIF/diashock has done so for daily shocks to the balance staff.

This seems to be another strong year for Omega. I have two questions if you don't mind.

1) Is the wooden box of the PO GMT GoodPlanet actually bamboo? Local boutique staffs said they would bring me the bamboo box. I thought they were making a joke or something, and that the box was made of some other kind of wood. So when you specifically sa...

and was confirmed to me by the staff presenting the watches. From the colour of the wood, this appeared reasonable to me, but I admit having no experience with bamboo furniture other than that typical colonial-style stuff in our winter garden. Regarding t...

Thank you for your response. I must learn to read more carefully. I couldn't find the bamboo part on Omega's web site. Perhaps it is in the printed version to which I have no access. The box is very nice indeed. Here's more bamboo from a trip I made last ...

Thank you Marcus for this enlightening report.....

I am only talking for myself.....first, I was not aware that we are living in an environment (due to our new tools) with so much more magnetism! (you see Marcus, I am living under a rock!) and the the more I see and read about Omega and Omega's history, t...

Omega favourite at Baselworld 2013

 By: MTF : June 4th, 2013-21:14
Thanks Marcus for the summary. I was quite taken by this new watch for all the reasons you gave plus the convenience of the conjoint minutes and seconds counter for the chronograph. I have not looked at Omega since 2002. Regards, MTF ...

Thanks Marcus...

I like the Ladymatic a lot with the new 'chive cuts' bracelet, but what I really would like to see is a picture of the Seamaster AquaTerra 15,000 Gauss' display back. Do you happen to have one? I think this is a most significant watch! Thanks, Magnus
