. . . taken recently in Los Angeles at the Omega boutique. I'm taken by the decision to bring co-axial escapement technology to the gamut of Omega's offerings, including diminutive women's models . . .
. . . like this 27 mm Constellation in red gold with an opalescent red gold dial, this 34 mm Aqua Terra . . .
. . . or this DeVille St Moritz chronograph.
The Seamaster and DeVille are equipped with established movements, but the Constellation has an entirely new in-house Omega caliber suited for elegant ladies models in the classical tradition. It's remarkable that Omega made the effort to create a modern high-tech movement that will only find employment in fashion watches.
There was one other new model in stock at the boutique, the new James Bond Seamaster with a novel take on rotor decoration
.
The Omega 2507 caliber movement is fitted with a rotor bearing that evokes the base of a 9 mm bullet, with the caseback engraved to mimic rifling.
ED209 and DRMW: your Omega has arrived!
Here's a frontal image of the ladies version . . .
. . . that shows the
007 dial decoration, enhanced by the diamond at 7 o'clock.
For some inexplicable reason, I feel like watching Octopussy ;-) . . .
