I've heard this from owners of new regular Speedmasters. Given that these are new parts, rather have them a little tight in beginning.
I bought mine used and winds like "buttah". This message has been edited by mrsnak on 2009-07-02 18:10:44

Q on Speedmaster Alaska

Just took delivery of Speedmaster Alaska, I observe that the crown is quite stiff and bit hard for winding, is it normal?
Me too

Yes, mine is quite stiff as well. After a few days of winding in a row, it became easier to wind.

Mine is very hard to wind and to change the time too. Hope it'll lose a lil (soon)> And the watch stopped twice. Is it the reason?
