Grey for me

Mar 10, 2015,12:36 PM

Grey seems more distinctive than the DSOTM, especially since virtually all other Speedmasters have black dials and bezels.

All-black watches seem a bit played out (just my opinion, much like my view of all black rims on a black car).

Grey looks more expensive than black--not that I'm into flashy watches, but an all black watch, given black watch ubiquity, sometimes looks a bit cheap. Not accusing the DSOTM of this, but I think there is a danger here. The Grey, on the other hand, looks classy to me.

Rarity of grey ceramic vs. black/charcoal ceramic. Most all other ceramic watches have been in black/charcoal.

I feel I'd have to dress way down to make the DSOTM work, whereas the grey seems more versatile.

The DSOTM seems too shiny for me, whereas the grey iteration is more of a matte look=much more under the radar.

Good luck with your decision.

Cheers,

John

I have mostly black dial Chronos, so Grey works as a diversity. Moreover, I think the Moon looks Grey, seriously :)) Rgds Raymond

I also would choose grey without doubt , nicer for me , very different to the rest of the line , more exclusive I think , anyway the one you choose will be a fantastic watch

I choose the Dark Side because ...

Grey and here is why

 By: kevster : March 10th, 2015-14:57
First of all the unspoken, luminous bezel and crown? Wow that's new and I must say very cool, new. Secondly the stainless or Ti bracelet will fit I suspect. Third black or blue is so last year and last got Lunar Dust? Grey says I. But I'm a white light di...

Only the Grey has the dial in Solid Platinum, PT950!

And it is the very first watch with luminova on the bezet! The Dark Side is looking like to me an outdate model without the luminova on the bezel. Marcus-Valerio

If it was my money, it will be grey Sir!

in the last years and therefore it gets kind of common. The Grey Moon offers some kind of understated/subtle beauty which I like a lot: Cheers, Oliver ...

Thanks, all. wow such overwhelming preference for grey! But I have to agree

with comment about DSOTM and the contrast... wow might have to live with both for awhile... thanks, TM

DSOTM

I prefer this one because of the contrast in the dial; very black and very white. That contrast is lost on the grey version. I have seen both and tried them both on. Black version is very dynamic in viewing compared with the grey, which is very subtle rea...

Tough call . . .

[Andrew D sporting DSOTM, June '14] . . . but I've gotta lean towards the grey side, Thomas; less prominent and more versatile, likely the better long-term solution. Art ...

I have a question for you Bezel on the Grey ?? If so this is not the 1st time this has been done, unless your referring to Omega's 1st time w/ such bezel. I have to go w/ the Black pure beauty in my eyes + the strap alone just does something for me,but as...

Grey because it's not black

Beautiful dial and grey is indeed a bit more out of the ordinary while fitting into a wide range of occasions.

I had the same dilemma.

Eventually I bought both! ...

Thanks again, all, I'm leaning towards the same solution Vilit chose...

and agree, though I like white, the wsotm is too white...

well..you got 4 other choices..

 By: ocwatching : March 19th, 2015-14:50
that Omega decided to pump out... are you more confused now Thomas?

can you say, "overmilked?"

 By: ThomasM : March 19th, 2015-23:41
no, not confused, too blatant... :-)

If it's worth doing...

 By: dxboon : March 26th, 2015-22:20
...it's worth overdoing, right? Watch companies have never left one dime on the table when they find a winning trend. Cheers, Daos PS -- Dark side for me.

I chose DSOTM

 By: willski : March 26th, 2015-21:15
I chose the DSOTM - actually just picked it up yesterday whilst on holiday. Reasoning was as follows: 1. (Most important) Wife said GSOTM was "similar" to my other watches so I should get something different and unique, and she thought it looked nice. Cho...
