Hello Guys,
I am very impressed of your knowledge and intelligence!
It was not an easy call...
Now I am going to unveil the secret behind.
What was tricky in this case?
Usually the number in the warranty paper is the serial# of the movement.
This mislead Mike and he assumed either an early run 30 T2 or a 30T1. His thoughts however were correct and straight forward.
In this particular warranty document it is the serial# of the CASE. And this was misleading some of you...
Grumio asked the important question! You see it is always necessary to ask the right question
And he also had the suspect it might be a Cal. 30.
Grumio, keep on going - you are on the right path, I can imagine what you will write when you have reached post# 700!
Then Ben cracked the nut... it is indeed a Cal. 30 FIRST RUN, that means one of the first 600 pieces produced.
(See a former thread of Bill where he showed his exampl.)
What makes this watch so collectible is not only the low serial#, it is also the fact that it is XL for the period at 37,5 mm,
the original black dial and the perfect preservation.
The icing on the cake is the warranty document and the historical context to the beginning of world war 2 in Poland.
And finally here is the movement shot to give proof.
Have a nice weekend!
Erich
