There's good news . . .

. . . as well as bad, Jeff.

First, the bad.  The balance wheel has been botched beyond repair by a previous watchmaker.  The staff and hairspring are fine, but the wheel can't be salvaged.

The good news is that I've been able to source two complete balance assemblies, one new, one used.  I'm hoping the used wheel can be transplanted, so that the movement retains the highest degree of originality possible.

. . . some like chronometers. My latest Omega chronometer, a ~ '45 30T2SCrg, was dropped off at my watchmaker's today. To put it mildly, it's not in good shape at the moment. The balance . . . . . . is 'out of round', with a visible wobble. Fingers crosse...

Congratulations. Now how about a scan....
