the difference between PP and VC
Jun 15, 2010,11:31 AM
I think that VC puts a Geneva Seal cert in with their pieces because not all of their watches carry a Geneva Seal. All mechanical Pateks were shipping with the Geneva Seal (at least until the transition to the PP Seal last year) so it was not a feature worth highlighting like in VC's case. It would be like VC putting a cert for having a winding crown on their watches (just kidding).

Geneva seal certificate

I noticed a VC watch came with a small yellow certificate for the geneva seal. Does PP have such a cert as well for geneva sealed movements? Didn't see it in my set. Thanks for advice.

Sorry, but I have no information beyond having noticed that this looked nice and came with a Patrimony I bought new in 2008. I'm indifferent to seals, certificates from collectives or trade associations, or other marketing devices.
Yes the one Park showed is the one I meant

So it only comes with RDs, Chopards and VCs? Some give a red and yellow hangtag with the metal seal on it too like with RD and Chopard. Just wanted to confirm that it doesn't come with any Pateks. Thanks.

It is for sure that PP does not come with it and RD etc does, cheers
Geneva Seal certificate.

I may be wrong, but I think the Pagoda may have had this since it was the (only?) piece which had both the COSC rating and the Geneva seal.
