Well, I have an original 165014 (regrettably at service now), but have taken the plunge and placed my order for what I consider to be a truly superlative re-edition. I am at No.9 on the waiting list at my AD....and was told 3-4 months before it arrives. T...  

it is a very good idea to have both the vintage and the re-edition. The wait is always the highlight of an acquisition. I am enjoying mine. ...

Reminds me the Chief Inspector Maigret. I bet that you have some inside info. I'm also expecting something new at Basel or they will let Omega to win the game way too easy. Someone must challenge Omega, because so far, in 2014/2015, on the industrial made...

A really nice looking watch. I've only been able to handle the titanium version with the blue bezel, but I found that a little too light for what it's supposed to be. A really handsome and well fitting watch. Looking forward to more pictures and a real li... 

The wrist picture is delightful and at the same time highlights some doubts. The case of your Omega Seamaster 300 looks like a 165.014 with its straight lugs but the dial looks like a 165.024 dial. If so, the hands should be "baton", not broad swords. Am ... 

.....it is the same comment that Nicolas made I believe until Marcello put the picture straight. In the latter part of production of the 165014, these hands were used...so the watch is completely correct. You are right that for earlier production of 16501... 

....It was Marcello's knowledge and research into the Omega vintage that allowed the clarification. Like most things...a "little" knowledge is a dangerous thing.....

.....what i did find hard was finding one with an original insert.....the movement needs a service on this so it is away for a few weeks....and i worry all the time that they will replace something like the insert!

....Omega is like a snake-pit for a novice like me....but I have to say, I followed my golden rules when buying and had an expert look at it before I bought. And of course, Marcello probably knows as much about Omega SMs as anyone too. I think so often, a... 

at the risk of repeating myself, for me the ti5 version was the obvious choice. All the qualities of the standard version, and those are many, plus the lightness, the durability of titanium. Not to mention its lack of heat conductivity, making it the obvi...

is that the new bracelet has a micro adjustment which makes wearing the watch really comfortable. I have been wearing mine for close to 4 weeks and it has run 4 seconds.
