Neither dial retouched in the usual sense...

...but my uncle did have the 'radium' on the Seamaster dial scraped off...probably in the late 60s or early 70s (long story).

I don't want to change the dial because the value is purely sentimental to me. Scraping the radium off is just part of the story.

The black dial hasn't been touched since he got the watch in South America (he traded a Japanese camera for it) in the late 60s. So if changes were made it was before he received it. He always assumed it was a fake, but the watchmaker says it's a real movement and it is gold. The movement itself is gold-finished also I believe.

I'm afraid to scratch it trying to open but it just might try it to get movement photos.

If I get a chance I can post the receipt for the Seamaster...

Thanks

I wish I did...

I must confess that I don't know as much about Omega as other brands. I would appreciate learning from the experts here about both watches. I just find it interesting that for its age, the black dial watch is rose gold (which I usually think of as more mo...

My guess is that the jumbo model is a ref 2687 . . .

. . . from the mid-'50s. Unlikely that the dial is unretouched; I've never seen a black un engraved iteration, plus the fonts and printing don't quite match verified originals. With all the dials and movements available these days, it might be worth your ...
