If someday you have the madness to let it go, then you know that the Eiffel Tower will welcome it with dignity and happiness.
All the best, my friend.

Lovely piece
By: mondodec : June 17th, 2012-20:33
Bezel and lugs are still nice and sharp and the double-finish dial indicates earlier model within the first couple of years production. Note the crossed t in Constellation: that is an indicator of the earlier dials. Guilloche centre is beautiful and coupl...
Thanks for the insights

Note that on this Constellation the "Omega" is printed, not applied. I'll check to get the case reference when i get home tonight. Crownguard

Yes, earlier 2782s also had the printed logo but later ones (late 13 mill and 14 mill serials) tended to have the applied Omega logo. Cheers Desmond

Movement and Caseback pics
By: Crownguard : June 18th, 2012-16:10
Hi, Pics of movement and case back. The movement is quite tarnished, but as you can see, reflecting its chronometre heritage, the watch runs quite accurately. Any comments appreciated. Chrownguard ...

Tension Ring
By: Crownguard : June 19th, 2012-05:10
Hi, Needless to say you have a black beauty there. It seems from the pic (and I could definitely be wrong on this) that you might not have the right tension ring on your crystal (or even no ring). I believe the crystal should have a gold toned, not a silv...
That's possible. Here's a photo . . .

Re tension ring
By: mondodec : June 19th, 2012-17:15
I guess, ultimately, its a matter of personal preference, but in my experience the tension ring is usually the same colour as the case metal. E.g. chrome or rhodium colour with stainless. gold colour with gold or gold cap. I imagine over the years quite a...
Disagree
By: Crownguard : June 19th, 2012-18:23
The ring should be the color of the markers and the hands and the writing on the dial for black dial Omegas. That color tension ring casts a light which pronounces the color of these gold items enhancing their appearance. A white color ring drains the col...
What I am saying is that
By: MSNWatch : June 19th, 2012-18:33
these watches came from the omega factory with the tension ring matching the case. It is of course your prerogative to use whatever color tension ring looks better to you. I have tried using a tension ring that matches the color of the dial markers in a s...
I've never seen...
By: gatorcpa : June 20th, 2012-11:50
...a rose gold tension ring on an early Omega, but I know that rose gold dial markers do exist on such watches. Therefore, I would think that the crystal fitted at the factory would match the case, not the dial. However, I see nothing wrong with using a y...
Tension Ring Color
By: Crownguard : June 20th, 2012-15:36
Spoke with a senior watch dealer who has sold a fair number of NOS and like NOS Constellations and he very firmly stated that the Constellations always came with tension rings matching the hand and applied numbers, not the case material. I agree! Crowngua...
Hi Crowngrard... Nice Connie..... I disagree on Your tension ring comment.
By: Bill Sohne : June 20th, 2012-18:16
Hi Crownguard.... First off , congratulations on a nice Connie. It looks great, it will last you a lifetime. As others pointed out , gold markers on a black dial are stunning and uncommon. Then you look at Art's watch rose gold and black is stunning. I ha...

I reckon, it follows the color of the bezel
By: harrisans : June 21st, 2012-17:37
Crownguard, based on my little experience and exposure, regarding Omega Constellation watches, I reckon the tension-ring follows the color of the bezel. I have with me an Omega Constellation 'C' series, with a combination of 18k pink and 18k white gold. I...
Your tension ring is correct
By: Crownguard : June 21st, 2012-19:23
The Markers and the hands are white-- then so should the tension ring. I sent an email to Omega, tonight, asking about the tension ring color. I haven't heard back yet, but when and if I do I will share the answer with the forum members
It is just co-incidental
By: harrisans : June 22nd, 2012-05:27
Crownguard, with respect to your opinion, I reckon generally the tension-ring matches the color of the case, like what the experts have said. As for my watch, it is a little unusual since the bezel is white. As a result of which, the tension-ring matches ...
